Call it a Comeback
Sometimes you have to start a thing more than once for it to stick. So, consider this round 2. Life got the better of me over the last year, but I need this blog. I need something to keep me focused and centered. I'm not giving up, and I'm not letting myself get buried in my own negativity or insecurity.
I know I need to make changes to survive, so consider me back. Consider this a refresh that has nothing to do with New Year's resolutions or empty promises. I'm going to do this, and I hope I can help make a difference for someone else along the way.
Let's get it done!
Edit - Since I wrote the first part of this on my phone while waiting to get a few burgers from Five Guys this afternoon, I've decided to add a little bit more here now that I've had time to think. After going back and re-reading the first blog entry that launched this blog, I've realized just how important it is that I follow through with my original plan. Things have certainly gotten worse since last year which can definitely be attributed to my failure at keeping to my goals.
That's why this is so important. It's ultimately far less important to me whether or not anyone else actually reads any of this than it is to hold myself accountable to actually achieving something by way of setting and following my goals. So, here goes! I'm going to get back to the twice per week posting schedule for no less than one year. I want to do some vlogs as well which can also serve as one of the semi-weekly posts to the blog. I'm going to start seeking out professionally printed literature to help me combat some of the nasty habits that I've formed that keep me in the rut of procrastination and avoidance that I've not thus far been able to escape. I'm going to keep an open mind and face my fears in the spirit of self-improvement.
As I've said above, this isn't a resolution, and it isn't a fad that I'm following. I genuinely want to improve, and i want to make sure that my family and I have better lives going forward. I've fallen so far now that I can only look forward to the climb. Here's to restarting for the better!
